Kitchener-Waterloo Graphic Design Services
The visual elements of your brand will play a strong role in your marketing and corporate identity. Strong and captivating graphics will help differentiate your brand from the competition, and CryoDragon is ready to help you on that journey.
We use top-of-the-line graphic design software and resources to create stunning vector and raster images for all types of applications, from website assets to digital promotions.
No matter what kind of graphical asset you are looking for, we will help you find the right approach, resolution and required colour palette to be used for your project. On this page, we will focus on digital graphics meant for websites, digital marketing and promotions, as well as online documentation. We have separated this from print graphics (designs meant to be printed on material) as they require different approaches.
Different Types of Digital Assets We’re Good At!
It is very hard to create packages for digital art, because every project is unique to your brand, your application, and your audience. As a result, our team at CryoDragon provides a custom quote and proposal for our graphic design services. These are based off of our hourly rate of $80 + HST.
What exactly are digital assets? They can be anything from website banners and infographics to social media post designs and online advertisements. We have had experience with all sorts of clients in creating digital assets for various industries. Take a look below at some of our featured work.
At CryoDragon, our Kitchener-Waterloo graphic design team does not just excel in creating custom digital graphics. We are also highly skilled in our fields of interest and academic backgrounds. Our team is made up of academic scholars and healthcare professionals that can effectively understand your research and data to create stunning illustrations for scientific figures, graphical abstracts, journal covers, and infographics for multiple types of publications. On top of all this, we offer academic discounts as well!
Do you have questions?
When it comes to starting a new graphic design project with us, our Waterloo graphic design team is very specific in how we handle our approach. During the client onboarding process, we will be asking a lot of questions about your needs, your applications, and your desired outcomes. The more information you provide, the better it will be. At the end of the day, you know your business more than we do, and our job is to take your vision, elevate it, and put it on digital “pen and paper”. Here are some of our most frequently asked questions!
Great question! There are several key differences between designing graphics for online/digital assets and print material. First of all, you’re working with different types of media, so the design approach will have to be different. Digital assets need to be captivating to an online audience, whereas print assets need to cater to the type of audience each design is made for (like the readers of a magazine, or visitors to your tradeshow booth, etc.). In other words, one type of design is made for viewing on the web, while the other type of design is made so that the finished product can be held in your hand.
Secondly, the adaptability of your design will be different based on your application. If we are doing a print graphic, we are restricted by the dimensions of the specific material you choose to print our graphic on. If we are doing a web graphic, we are still restricted by dimensions, but we have to prepare graphics for different dimensions of screen sizes, social media advertisement dimensions, etc. Web graphics becomes a bit more complex because you may want to apply the graphic to various similar applications, all of which have different dimensions and require an adaptation of the original graphic.
Thirdly, the colour spaces that you have to work with are different depending on whether you are creating graphics for web or print use. For print design, you’ll be using CMYK colour spaces that are suitable for printers. Meanwhile, for web graphics, you’ll be using RGB color spaces or hexadecimal colour schemes to create an image that can be displayed well from screen to screen .
There are many other minute differences between the two, but it is a good idea to always keep in mind what your end goal is, and how best to achieve it using a good balance between web and print graphics. At CryoDragon, our Kitchener-Waterloo graphic design experts will work with you to determine the best solution for your needs.
At CryoDragon, our graphic design process is simple. When you first reach out to us, our Kitchener-Waterloo graphic design team will connect with you by email or phone to discuss your needs, determine the urgency of your job and discuss a timeline, and request additional information from you to start planning the work ahead.
Once all of this is done, our team will prepare a detailed quote and proposal for you based on the amount of time it will take to complete the project. This will be based on our hourly rate.
When the quote and proposal have been agreed upon and signed by both parties, we start the work with a deposit (usually 50% for large jobs, and flexible for smaller jobs). Our Kitchener-Waterloo graphic design team will present you with a draft to review and request feedback for further revisions. This revision process will continue until you are satisfied with the final product, up to a specific revision limit (based on number of hours of revisions – we will discuss this in another section).
When done, we ask for the final payment and send you all of the files so that you have everything and own all raw files at the end of the project (.AI, .JPG, etc.)!
Yes, we do include revisions in each of our projects! However, as with most services, there are limits to how many revisions you can request. At CryoDragon, we are quite flexible when it comes to revisions. We set a varying amount of revision hours as a limit in each of our contracts, and this amount is “varying” because larger projects will naturally require more revisions.
Typically, we allow 1 hour of revisions for small projects, 2 hours of revisions for larger or bundled projects, and maybe even more for large-scale projects. However, that does not mean we will just stop at exactly at those time limits. If additional revisions are required, we will let you know if it is something minor that will not incur an extra charge, or if it is a lot of extra work that requires an Addendum to our Contract.
Rest assured, we are always upfront about our fees and do not charge or send invoices until agreements and addendumes are signed by both parties.
Absolutely! You’re paying us to create something for you, just like you would pay a business for a tangible product. At the end of each project, our clients own everything that we have created for them. Our contracts state this as well.
100%! We rely on you, our client, to tell us how we are doing. You know what you want best, and without your guidance and feedback, we would have a much more difficult time trying to figure things out.
When we start any graphic design project, we always do a pen-and-paper sketch or digital sketch to start coming up with ideas. During these early stages, it is imperative that we communicate well so that we can have a working draft to improve through graphical design software.
Even as we start drawing it out using the computer, we will be sending you updates on our progress, which will allow you to provide input and feedback every step of the way!
We get asked this question more often than you think! Although our team of graphic designers is located in Kitchener-Waterloo, we offer our services internationally. We have created graphics for clients in the United Kingdom, China, Taiwan, United States of America, and more. With online communication being so easy to use nowadays, we can connect with clients from around the world at the click of a button. Don’t let distance stop you from working with us!
At the end of the project, we are happy to provide editable Illustrator and Photoshop files upon request. However, we do need to stress that although files are “editable”, you’ll need to have the proper software to open them up. In that regard, you’ll also need to have someone who is familiar with the program to help edit the files.
At CryoDragon, we can work with any digital file format. We use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for all of our graphics, and can save the finalized graphics as either raster files (set to a specific resolution such as JPG or PNG) or vector files (scalable to any size such as EPS or SVG).
