Of course! Prior to starting any logo design project, we make sure that our contract says you own the logo after the final payment. You will also receive the AI vector files at that point so that you can continue to use it in your branding projects (business cards, letterheads, envelopes, T-shirts, etc.).

The simple answer is time. The more time we invest in a logo design project, the higher the cost. We have three options for logo design, with the first one being “bring your own sketch” called vectorization, which is charged at our hourly rate of $80 + HST. We simple take a look at your sketch and any modifications you request, and let you know how long it will take to draw it out in Adobe Illustrator as a vector file. Most of these projects range from 2-4 hours, with some going to 6+ hours (rare unless you have a very detailed logo with many components).

Our first logo design package is called the Traditional logo design, which involves a simple logo design and layout. In most cases, this will suffice if you aren’t looking for something extremely fancy. These would include logos with your name in it or something with a simpler graphic. The process usually takes us about 15-20 hours.

Our next level is called Legendary logo design, where it’s much more than just the logo itself – it’s about creating a brand. In general, here is our process:

• We first start off with analyzing your market and target audience while peforming competitor research.
• Once we have a good sense of your industry and your unique business, we create several logo design sketches for you to look at.
• From these logo design sketches, we all work together to narrow down your selection and make the necessary modifications to render it perfect.
• Once the design is finalized, we start playing around with colours. We present several colour schemes that work, and you get to decide what is best.
• Once the colour and design have been finalized, we play around with the layout of the logo. You may want a horizontal, vertical, or even square version of the logo. These are all done in the final stages.
• When everything is finalized, we create a branding guide that you can use for all of your branding efforts moving forward. This branding guide will include your logo design, orientation, spacing and colours. Apart from that, it can also contain your fonts, specific usages for certain logo layouts, and more. 

Our legendary logo design package is at least 40-50 hours of service, all bundled into a flat rate.

Our clients have tons of input in the logo design process. For each of these projects, our Kitchener-Waterloo logo design experts first connect with you to discuss ideas and preliminary sketches to get a sense of what your preferences are. We will then continue to connect with you when we have new sketches and designs to prompt you for your feedback and critique. This constant communication is crucial to getting a logo designed properly. At the end of the day, this is your logo and we will always listen to your feedback to deliver what you desire.

We know it’s scary to pay for something that you have yet to see, especially something that will represent your brand in the future. We know that you are putting your trust in us to create something great for your business, and we never want to finish a logo design project until we’ve exhausted all resources on our end, from additional meetings to continued revisions. But to be honest, when it comes to a logo design, research and communication between you and our logo designers are everything.

It’s your responsibility to:

• Tell us about your business and what you wish to achieve
• Send us samples of logo designs and moods that vibe well with you
• Set your expectations of the logo design at the beginning of the project and share them with your designer
• Continuously provide feedback and guidance for your designer
• Be honest and truthful about your opinion on our designs, because “settling” early on will cause larger issues in the future.
• Also be honest if you suddenly change your mind about an idea you had; the earlier you let us know, the better. In most cases, these changes are so simple we don’t even charge extra. Other times, an Addendum will be provided for extra work involved.
• Not expect endless revisions or colour combinations (yes, we have had someone ask us for every colour combination possible…that’s over 10 million choices per colour 😱).

It’s our responsibility to:

• Learn about your business, your target audience, your market, and your competitors (especially for the Legendary package)
• Prompt you for feedback whenever we have new ideas or a new sketch for you to look at
• Listen to your feedback and critique, and act on it
• Provide revisions for your logo design. We will always try to provide as many revisions as we can without charge until we feel it is too much.

Our Kitchener-Waterloo logo designers work hard to create logos that we hope you will love in the end. We can never guarantee that you’ll love our design in the end, but it is really rare that this doesn’t happen. In the unfortunate case that it does, there are only two options: (a) give us another chance and provide clearer instructions on what you are looking for, or (b) find another logo designer that will be a better fit moving forward. No matter the case, our team will always try to go above and beyond to make sure we understand what you are looking for and make changes to our designs based on the feedback and instructions we receive from our clients.

This question pops up more often than you expect! Yes, we do expect a 50% deposit for all projects exceeding $400 (flexible once we surpass $1,000). Anything less than $400 requires a full payment at the beginning of the project if you are a new client.

In some cases, there are several individuals on the client’s side that provide input on a logo design project. In other cases, you may have new developments or ideas you want to share with us that affect your logo design. This means you may need to ask us for more revisions. 

What we want to stress is the fact that you should not be afraid or worried about reaching out to us for revisions. Our Kitchener-Waterloo logo designers are down-to-earth and very easy to work with. Most importantly, we are very receptive to feedback. If there are unexpected changes that need to be made, please do let us know because sometimes, the changes may not be as large as you think. In cases where a total redraw is required, or the scope of the work is more complicated than we decided upon at the start of the project, we will provide an Addendum to the Contract to quote for additional work at our hourly rate of $80 + HST prior to continuing with the new design. 

We also want to stress the fact that client communication is absolutely critical when it comes to design projects. If you do have several individuals that provide input in a logo design project, please ensure they are in the discussions with our web designers at the very beginning. 

It’s impossible for any logo designer to have experience in every industry. It’s more about how well the logo designer can research and understand the industry you are in and explore designs from your competitors. That’s why we believe our onboarding meetings are absolutely critical because it gives us the chance to explore your industry and understand what you are looking for with your guidance and input.
